Anybody have a motivation pill?
Something has gone awry in in my brain. Observe:
Self1: Jessica, it is the weekend. You have an assload of work to do and an even bigger assload of reading to do. I think you should probably do some of it.
Self2: But I'm tired.
Self1: Suck it up, you just wasted your entire second spring break week doing a whole bunch of nothing.
Self2: I really don't feel like working.
Self1: It's not a matter of FEELING like doing your work, it's a matter of, as Nike says, JUST DOING IT.
Self2: You know what? I have a better idea.
Self1: There is no better idea than doing your work.
Self2: You haven't heard the idea yet.
Self1: Okay, what is it?
Self2: I think I should knit a rug out of t-shirts.
Self1: Um, what?
Self2: Yeah, it will be really cool. I just have to go to the knitting store to get some GIANT circular needles.
Self1: Well, I do need to go to the knitting store to get more of that yarn to finish that scarf that nobody is ever going to wear...
Self2: Exactly. It can be a little break, then I'll do some work.
Self1: But only the knitting store. No actual knitting.
***Time lapse***
Self2: Man, this t-shirt rug is turning out SO COOL.
Self1: Wait a second, how did it get to be 10PM on Sunday night and all you've done this weekend is spend a lot of time sitting on the couch watching gory shows on the Discovery Channel, cutting t-shirts into strips and knitting them together? I should be fired.
Self2: Probably.

Very interesting project. How do you connect the T-shirt strips to each other before you knit them?
T-Shirts! How cool! I bet they knit beautifully!
Jessicool, love it. Please tell about the needles. Can we have the recipe? CAP said you are using size 19 and cast on 42. Are you cutting the T shirts in so they are circular (loops) or strips?
How do you cut the tshirt into strips?
Answers are here!
Oh VERy cool! Just another "to do" on my giant list.. but you SO know I'm weeding thru my t-shirts tonight!
Waste not, want not!
I can't thank you enough! In my never-ending quest to organize, get rid of, clean up, etc. my home of CHAOS, this T-shirt trick should clear up at least 1 cubic foot of space, plus I really need a couple of new bathmats. Yay ;-)
Oh. Yes. This is an excellent idea indeed. Husband destroys T-shirts beyond wearability at an alarming rate and we have way too many car wash rags. Soon, Tshirt rugs.
GOOD, Good idea.
That is the same arguement I have with myself every day of my life!(Well not the T shirt thing but you know whatb I mean.) I'm doing it right now in fact.
